Welcome
I am a PhD student in the Neurobiology Lab of
Prof. Peter König at the Institute
of Cognitive Science at the University of Osnabrück.
Projects
Recent studies demonstrated that a substantial
number of representational properties in early sensory systems can be obtained by
applying normative coding principles to natural stimuli. Until now, however,
optimal coding principles have not directly been related to the agent’s motor
capabilities, and thus it is still an open question whether these purely sensory
formed representations are suited to generate behavior. In my PHD thesis we are
investigating the sensorimotor organization, by applying normative coding
principles to the sensorimotor space, spanned by an agent’s sensory input and
its motor capabilities.
