Syllabus:

Prerequisites: The prior participation in the lecture "Learning", during the preceding winter semester 14/15 is of advantage.

The aim of this lecture is to teach two areas of Basic Psychology: Emotion and Motivation. In the first part we address definition, research strategies, theories and neurobiology of emotion, also concerning specific emotions, i.e., fear and anxiety, anger and aggression, and positive emotions. Part 2 focusses on motivation (definition, measurement, research strategies and single motives, e.g. hunger, thirst, sexuality, social bonding and intimacy) and their neurobiological correlates.
